Shri Rajmatangi Mahayagya performed in Mumbai for protection and prosperity of Bharat

  • Over 7,000 devotees participate in the Mahayagya organised by Sanatan Sanstha

Mumbai, Maharashtra – Mumbai, the city where Sachchidananda Parabrahma Dr Jayant Athavale, founder of Sanatan Sanstha, initiated the work of Dharma, resonated with Vedic chants on Jyeshtha Shukla Pratipada (17 May 2026). Under the divine grace of Shri Siddhivinayak, a golden chapter was added to the history of Sanatan Sanstha.

The sacred Shri Rajmatangi Mahayagya was performed in a deeply devotional and auspicious atmosphere at Nardulla Tank Maidan in Prabhadevi. Organised with the intention of providing a protective spiritual shield to Bharat and ensuring its all-round progress during the present times, the Mahayagya filled the Mumbai skyline with the resonance of Vedic mantras and the revered presence of Sadguru and saints.

The spiritually charged presence of Sachchidananda Parabrahma Dr Jayant Athavale’s spiritual successors, Shri Satshakti (Mrs.) Binda Nilesh Singbal and Shri Chitshakti (Mrs.) Anjali Mukul Gadgil, added to the divine aura of the event. Dignitaries, seekers, and devotees present at the ceremony were immersed in the grace of Shri Rajmatangi Devi.

More than 7,000 people participated in and benefited from the Mahayagya.

The ceremony commenced at 3 pm on 17 May with Shri Mahaganapati Pujan, followed by Punyahavachan and the formal sankalp for the Mahayagya. Devotees present also took part in a collective sankalp.

This was followed by an invocation of the Goddess through Lalita Trishati Kumkumarchan in a deeply devotional atmosphere. Offerings (ahutis) were then made into the sacred fire with the chanting of Shri Rajmatangi Devi’s mool mantras.

Subsequently, recitations of the Mala Mantra and Gayatri Mantra, along with hom and parayan, were performed. This was followed by Shri Ganapati Hom. After the hom dedicated to Shri Rajmatangi and associated deities, the seventh chapter of the Devi Saptashati was recited alongside the hom. The ceremony concluded with Purnahuti performed as per Vedic rituals.

Darshan of Divine fragments of Somnath Jyotirling

A unique aspect of this Mahayagya was the opportunity for devotees to have darshan of sacred fragments of the original Somnath Jyotirling, which was historically damaged during the invasion by Mahmud of Ghazni nearly a thousand years ago.

These revered relics were placed at the venue for public darshan. At around 3:15 pm, the divine fragments were ceremonially brought to the yag venue by chief acharya Shri Arun Kumar Gurumurthy, accompanied by priests and the sound of traditional instruments.

Devotees experienced deep devotion while having darshan of these sacred relics. With the worship of Shri Rajmatangi Devi on one hand and the presence of Lord Shiva through the Jyotirling fragments on the other, devotees felt as though they were experiencing a sacred confluence of Shiva–Shakti.
