According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the smart Siri features were originally supposed to be released in iOS 26.4, a system update scheduled for March. That now appears to be pushed further down the road. But Apple itself denies the delay, stating that the new Siri is coming this year.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is facing internal problems in testing the new Siri functionality. As a result, the rollout of all the new features will be spread across multiple updates: some possibly not until iOS 26.5 (expected around May) and others not even until iOS 27 in September.
Personal data integration – Siri’s ability to search through your old messages to do something for you, for example, is also coming later than planned. And features that allow Siri to perform actions in apps are not yet ready for iOS 26.4.

Apple only signed the official contract to use Gemini AI in January, after previous considerations such as an in-house model or technology from Anthropic.
