This award, decided by public vote, recognises individuals and organisations who have supported learning ‘in creative and innovative ways to make life better’, supporting the ‘core values of humanity’.
MIMS Learning’s ‘Targeting Health Inequalities’ campaign provided 20 learning modules, podcasts and webinars to support GPs and other healthcare professionals in making a positive social impact.
Healthcare professionals are all too aware of the profound health disparities faced by certain socioeconomic and ethnic groups, women and members of the LBGTQ+ community, but could feel a sense of overwhelm. So, MIMS Learning’s campaign aimed to shift the narrative from ‘What is the issue?’ to ‘What can be done?’, focusing on practical steps for change.
Many thousands of healthcare professionals took part in this education and a remarkable 96% ‘agreed’ or ‘strongly agreed’ that the modules in the programme would lead them to change their practice. Find the modules here, covering topics such as healthcare for homeless people and those living in prison, transgender healthcare, and findings from the MBBRACE report on maternal health outcomes for Black and Asian women. You’ll also find several free podcast episodes.
