Opening last month, the V&A East Storehouse is a huge, three floor warehouse offering precedented access to the V&A collections and archives.
Billed as a “unique new museum experience,” the ever changing displays invite visitors to take a look behind the scenes and wander amongst half a million creative works, spanning every era, discipline, and corner of the globe.
Open seven days a week, and located a short walk from Hackney Wick station, admission is free and you can even go online and Order an Object to view close up and personal. It’s a brilliant idea.
The ultra modern space displays artworks over three floors.
Some of the objects appear quite random and bear no relation to the items next to them, but that only adds to the sense of adventure.

The storehouse provides a new permanent home for David Bowie’s archive, and comes with a bookable creative workspace.
Admission is free but you need to book a timed ticket to gain entry.
