When accidents happen, every second counts—especially when it comes to your pet’s safety. That said, it’s important to stay prepared in case your pet suffers a bleeding injury. Whether it’s from a fall, a cut, or a scuffle with a wild animal, having the right first-aid supplies on hand can make all the difference during emergencies. In this article, we explain how Scout & Zoe’s Rapid Rescue is designed to work, how you’re meant to use it, and discuss its pricing.
HOW IT WORKS?
This hemostatic gauze for pets uses advanced hemostatic technology to help rapidly control and stop external bleeding from cuts, torn nails, paw-pad injuries, bite wounds, and other everyday accidents.
More specifically, it uses zeolite, an aluminosilicate compound made of aluminum, silicon, and oxygen that acts as a rapid clotting agent.

When applied to a wound, the gauze’s zeolite absorbs water from blood by exchanging ions, especially calcium, to actively stimulate the clotting process. This helps concentrate platelets and clotting proteins, which accelerates clot formation, making the gauze capable of stopping external bleeding in 60 seconds or less and cauterizing wounds quickly without using any heat.

Plus, it also doesn’t stick to wounds.
The gauze is also rated to be FDA-approved, which makes it safe for all animals, including dogs, cats, horses, livestock, as well as exotic and wild animals.

HOW TO USE?
The Scout & Zoe’s Rapid Rescue can be used at home, in the field, on the go, and even in veterinary surgeries.
To use it, simply tear open the pouch, then take out the zeolite hemostatic gauze and pack it into your pet’s wound.
Apply light pressure directly over the bleeding source for approximately 3 minutes or until bleeding stops. Note that you might need to use both pieces of gauze in the pouch, depending on how deep your pet’s wound is.

After the bleeding stops, wrap and tie some bandage around the gauze to maintain pressure.
When removing the gauze, remember to do it gently to prevent the wound from opening and start bleeding again.
