Ripple warns XRP holders about a new wave of scams on YouTube, where fake accounts pose as Ripple or even use deepfake videos of recognisable broadcasters such as economist David McWilliams or Elon Musk.

These fake accounts spread false promises such as free XRP giveaways. They encourage users to send money or tokens first, after which nothing is returned.

Garlinghouse urges users to always verify the authenticity of YouTube channels before trusting any XRP-related content.

The campaign comes at a time when XRP is experiencing a new price rally, giving scammers extra opportunities. Both the rising price and the turbulent market increase the appeal of such scams.

Ripple has called on its community to report suspicious content and to consult only official channels.
