Festival Significance
Sree Kalikavil Bhagavathi Temple, located at Kizhakkethara, Mathoor, is revered for its powerful divine presence and traditional rituals. The annual Prathishta Dinam Mahotsavam commemorates the sacred consecration day of Bhagavathi and is celebrated with deep devotion, temple rites, and cultural offerings.
As per tradition, the festival begins with the Utsava Kodiyettam (ceremonial flag hoisting) on February 26, 2026.

Daily Ritual Schedule
The temple follows a disciplined sequence of sacred rituals each day:
5:00 AM – Ganapathi Homam
Invocation of Lord Ganapathi for obstacle removal and auspicious beginnings.
8:00 AM – Usha Pooja
Morning worship offered to Bhagavathi.
9:00 AM – Vilakku Pooja
Traditional lamp worship symbolising divine light and protection.
11:00 AM – Uchappooja
Midday pooja performed with offerings and prayers.
Evening Procession & Melam
6:00 PM – Thaalam Ezhunnallippu
A ceremonial procession accompanied by the rhythmic majesty of Pandimelam.
