Shivaratri Mahotsavam 2026 at Thrikkoyikkal Sree Mahavishnu Mahadevar Temple, Perumbuzha, is a sacred annual festival observed with deep devotion, ritual purity, and community participation. The temple, dedicated to Lord Mahadeva and Lord Mahavishnu, stands as an important spiritual center in Perumbuzha, preserving ancient Shaiva–Vaishnava traditions.
The Shivaratri Mahotsavam will be conducted on Sunday, 15 February 2026 (Malayalam Era 1201, Kumbham 3), with a series of religious rituals, offerings, cultural programs, and devotional observances. Devotees are respectfully informed and invited to participate wholeheartedly for the spiritual success of the festival.
Sacred Ritual Offerings and Devotee Participation
Devotees are permitted to offer essential items required for Abhishekam, including milk, tender coconut, oil, rose water, honey, and ghee, directly at the temple sanctum. These offerings symbolize purity, surrender, and gratitude to Lord Shiva and are believed to bestow spiritual merit and blessings.
Those wishing to participate in the Shiva Deepa Pooja are requested to reach the temple premises before 5:00 PM, as the ritual commences in the evening. The lamp and pooja offerings are sponsored by Sri Sinuraj, Keezhathil Veedu, Perumbuzha.
A special Niramala Samarpanam (Shivaratri Garland Offering) is offered by Smt. Preethi, Dakshashree, and Sreelakshmi of Sree Raghavendra Matham, Edavattom, Keralapuram, adding to the devotional grandeur of the festival.
Thiruvathira Competition – Cultural Highlight
As part of the Mahotsavam, a Thiruvathira Competition will be conducted, reflecting Kerala’s rich cultural heritage. Interested teams must register in advance, with the last date for registration being 13 February 2026.
