Maharathotsava 2026 in the Temple of Srimookambika
One of the most respected Shakti shrines in South India is the holy Srimookambika Temple in Kollur, which is tucked away amid the tranquil Western Ghats. The goddess Mookambika, the holy form of Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Parvati, is worshipped here by devotees from all over Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and beyond. The temple kindly extends an invitation to devotees to take part in the big Maharathotsava in 2026, which is set for March 5–14.
One of the temple’s most significant yearly events is the Maharathotsava. Extensive rituals, ancient temple arts, Vedic chanting, and the magnificent chariot procession all contribute to this highly intense event. Kollur becomes a thriving pilgrimage site during this time, replete with religious celebrations, devotion, music, and lighting.
