How the Drops Work
Leatherman is running two parallel systems for the event. Some tools are available on a straightforward first-come, first-served basis, which means speed matters. Others are offered through a purchase lottery, where customers submit an entry while the Vault is open and winners are selected at random when the event closes on April 3.
The lottery approach is a deliberate move to give more collectors a fair shot at the rarest pieces. The most expensive piece at $300 is a compact fixed blade built for everyday versatility, and it comes with a free Leatherman x Malloy Brothers hat while supplies last. At $250, there’s an experimental evolution of the Charge build that explores new materials, coatings, and features born from what Leatherman calls Garage curiosity and creative risk.
The $200 option is arguably the most interesting from a heritage standpoint. Fans of the now-retired Leatherman Crunch already know what it means when Leatherman revisits a pliers-driven concept, but this one goes further back than the Crunch ever did. The tool resurrects Tim Leatherman’s original 1975 double-pliers prototype, a design where bluntnose pliers convert into needlenose, that was shelved decades ago because it was too complex and costly to manufacture. Leatherman rebuilt that forgotten mechanism on the advanced FREE P4 platform, pairing a founder’s-era idea with magnetic one-handed access and 21 modern tools.
Rounding out Day One at $125 is a modern reimagining of the pocket knife that inspired the original PST, designed for travel with essential tools and one-handed FREE access. Leatherman explicitly notes that From the Vault is not a sale or clearance event. These are curated releases at full pricing.

Leatherman tools have developed a surprisingly active secondary market over the past several years.
