ESCP Business School has appointed three new members to its London Board of Trustees, reinforcing its governance structure as it advances a strategic expansion plan. The new trustees are Professor Julia Clarke, Hoby Buvat, and Nicolas Motelay. They replace outgoing trustees Laurence Milsted, Laurent Feniou, and Dr Rodney Eastwood.
Professor Julia Clarke brings extensive leadership experience from roles at Middlesex University, the University of Leeds, and the University of Wolverhampton. She also served as Chair of the Chartered Association of Business Schools and is known for her contributions to academic governance and innovation. Hoby Buvat, an ESCP alumna from 1997, currently serves as Co-Head of Capital Markets for Deutsche Bank in the EMEA region. Her two decades of investment banking experience span both London and Paris. Nicolas Motelay, an ESCP alumnus from 1987, is a Managing Director at New End Associates and has built a strong reputation in entrepreneurial support and fundraising.
Leon Laulusa, executive president and dean of ESCP Business School, said: “We are honoured to welcome these new members to our London governance board and the broader ESCP community. Their unique backgrounds and perspectives are key to supporting our School as we pursue our mission to educate accountable, bold and creative leaders in the UK and beyond.”
The appointments coincide with a significant moment for ESCP’s London campus, which earlier this year was granted full UK Degree Awarding Powers. This achievement enhances the School’s profile within the UK higher education sector and positions it to expand its academic and professional offerings. The Bold and United 2026 to 2030 Strategic Plan outlines ambitions to grow its programme portfolio with an emphasis on interdisciplinarity, innovation, and sustainability. The strategy also includes objectives to broaden access to education for diverse student groups, embrace digital transformation, and deliver measurable societal impact through projects like the Blue Factory, the School’s European start-up incubator.
Lord David Gold, chairman of the board of trustees at the London campus, commented: “They bring exceptional talent to our Boardroom and I know will work fiercely hard for the School, to continue the great work of those retiring trustees, Rodney, Laurence and Laurent, whose guidance and support have been invaluable.”
Kamran Razmdoost, Dean of ESCP Business School London Campus, added: “On behalf of the Executive Team, I am pleased to welcome our new trustees. They bring a diverse range of expertise, and we look forward to working with them, alongside our existing Trustees, in the years ahead. Their appointment marks an important milestone as we embark on our new Strategic Plan and launch several new projects and initiatives on campus. We are confident that their fresh perspectives will help guide us through this exciting new phase of development at the London campus.”
The appointments reflect ESCP’s ongoing commitment to fostering community engagement and supporting small businesses. These values underpin the School’s approach to education, which increasingly prioritises sustainability, digital innovation, and broader social and economic impact. With the addition of Clarke, Buvat, and Motelay, the School is well placed to navigate an evolving academic landscape and deliver lasting value through business education.
