Irish IT provider Datapac has become the first HP partner worldwide to be recognised as a sustainability sales leader under HP’s Amplify Impact programme, the company has announced.
The designation, awarded to partners who demonstrate leadership in sustainable IT practices, comes as Irish organisations face mounting pressure around ESG reporting, sustainable procurement, and supply chain transparency.
Datapac, which was founded in 1982 and operates from offices in Dublin, Wexford, and Belfast, works with organisations across Ireland on lifecycle management, circular economy practices, and responsible sourcing. The company says the recognition reflects efforts to embed sustainability into both its own operations and its customer engagements.
Karen O’Connor, general manager at Datapac, said the milestone represents “sustained effort” by the team to lead by example.
“We believe technology partners have a responsibility to help organisations reduce their environmental impact in practical and measurable ways,” she said.
The timing reflects a broader shift in how technology purchasing decisions are being made. Annmarie Whelan, channel lead at HP Ireland, noted that customers are placing greater emphasis on extending device lifecycles, improving energy efficiency, and ensuring responsible end-of-life management.
“There is growing demand for practical guidance on how to make more sustainable technology choices while maintaining operational resilience,” she said.
With sustainability reporting obligations tightening across the EU, including under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, procurement teams are increasingly treating IT supply chains as a material sustainability risk. Datapac’s recognition seeks to position it to capitalise on that trend as organisations increasingly look for partners who can demonstrate verifiable environmental credentials.
