This small exhibition in the Barbican Library provided a wonderful insight into the world of Blondie as they climbed the charts in the late 1970s.

Legendary rock photographer Martyn Goddard exhibited 50 hand-picked prints capturing Blondie at the height of their rise, as well as the cameras used to take the iconic images.
Commissioned to chronicle the band’s triumphant 1978 return, Goddard takes you from searing live shots to intimate studio moments across four unforgettable assignments. These images appear alongside rare posters, album covers, tour memorabilia, and the very cameras that froze these moments in time.
Fronted by the magnetic Debbie Harry, Blondie leapt from underground cool to global stardom with Parallel Lines (1978) and the chart-topping Heart of Glass (1979). Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 and with over 40 million records sold, Blondie remains a force – with a new album on the way.
