Celebrating Earth Day with Creative and Interactive Activities

Earth Day on 22nd April was marked with enthusiasm and creativity at West Farm, as residents came together to celebrate the environment through a range of engaging activities.

Residents began by painting banners inspired by nature, using vibrant colours and thoughtful messages to reflect the importance of protecting the planet. The activity allowed for creative expression while also encouraging discussions about the environment, sustainability and the small changes everyone can make to make a difference.

Planting also played a key role in the celebrations, with residents getting hands-on as they added new plants to the garden. This activity reinforced the connection between people and nature, offering a tangible way to contribute to a greener environment while enjoying the therapeutic benefits of gardening.

A lively and interactive quiz added an element of fun to the day, testing residents’ knowledge on topics related to the environment, wildlife and the natural world.

Events like this highlight the importance of staying connected to global moments and celebrations, helping residents feel part of something bigger. Earth Day provided an opportunity not only to learn and reflect, but also to come together as a community and share meaningful experiences.

The team at West Farm Care Home worked hard to ensure the day was inclusive and enjoyable for everyone, adapting activities to suit different abilities and interests. Their efforts resulted in a celebration that was both engaging and memorable.
