- Prakash Raj has a history of repeatedly and deliberately mocking Hindu beliefs and deities. Hindus must take a firm and united stand against this repeated insult by launching a total boycott of all his upcoming films.
- This same Prakash Raj would never dare to narrate stories from other religions’ sacred texts in such a satirical and mocking tone, as he very well knows the consequences and fate that would await him if he did so. – Editor, HJS

New Delhi – A criminal complaint has been filed with the Delhi Police against actor Prakash Raj for hurting Hindu religious sentiments by insulting and mocking Prabhu Shri Ram and the sacred Hindu epic, the Ramayana.
A video from the Kerala Literature Festival went viral on social media that shows Prakash Raj narrating a fictional story from the Ramayana, which he described as being written by children.
During the narration, he depicted a sequence in which Prabhu Shri Ram and Lakshman arrive at a field while travelling south and consume fruit from it. He portrayed Ravana and Shurpanakha as the owners of the field, who then demand payment from Prabhu Shri Ram and Lakshman for the fruit. He also mocked that Shri Ram calls out to Lakshman as “Lucky”.
Prakash Raj claims Ram was a North Indian, Ravan a South Indian tribal, and their conflict began because Ram “STOLE FRUITS.”🥲

Prakash Raj also incorporated references to the modern tax system ‘GST’ into the narrative. He stated, in a satirical tone, that Shurpanakha demanded 2,000 dollars including GST for the fruit, while Ravana offered a 20 per cent discount.
He further added that when Prabhu Shri Ram and Lakshman stated they had no money, Ravana asked them to work off the debt by planting seeds and growing trees. The interaction between Prabhu Shri Ram, depicted as coming from North India, and Ravana from the South was presented in a humorous manner.
During the narration, he also referred to the North–South divide, commenting that people from North India should not impose the Hindi language on the South, nor interfere in others’ dietary choices such as eating beef.

Public backlash
Prakash Raj’s remarks have sparked widespread outrage online, for mocking Prabhu Shri Ram, distorting the sacred history of Bharat, reducing the Ramayana to a petty “fruit theft” dispute, and promoting regional division. Some social media users described it as “blatant Hinduphobia”. Many have also called for boycotting his upcoming films ‘Drishyam 3’ and ‘Varanasi’. The controversy has renewed debates on the balance between freedom of artistic expression and respect for religious sentiments
