EarFun is about to launch the most affordable earbuds with translation on the market. The Clip 2 arrives April 27, 2026, and at $79.99, it’s the first pair of clip on earbuds to combine Hi-Res Audio with built-in AI translation, targeting a gap in the open ear headphones category that nobody else has filled yet. Regional early bird pricing comes in at €55.99 for Europe and £48.99 in the UK (MSRP €79.99 / £69.99), all available starting April 27. The Clip 2 is already listed on Amazon and EarFun’s own store, and it comes in black and white.

Open Ear Earbuds With AI Translation Built In

The Clip 2 uses an open-ear architecture that clips onto the outside of your ear rather than sealing inside the canal. Unlike traditional earbuds that block out the world, this design lets ambient sound pass through naturally, so you stay aware of your surroundings while listening. EarFun is leaning hard into comfort as a selling point, describing the fit as “ultra-light” and the overall design as “engineered for endless comfort.”

The ear clips use a C-bridge design built from a 0.55mm nickel-titanium memory wire wrapped in soft liquid silicone, which EarFun says was refined through over 20,000 flex tests and 10 months of real-person wearing data. The whole package weighs just 49.6 grams with an IP55 dust and water resistance rating, so it handles workouts, commutes, and outdoor use without issue.

The open-ear approach also sets up the translation feature in a way that makes practical sense: you can hear the person speaking to you while the AI handles the language conversion in real time. That’s a natural advantage over sealed earbuds, where you’d need to toggle a transparency mode just to have a conversation.

That translation system is what makes the Clip 2 stand out in the growing ai translation earbuds category. The company describes it as delivering “seamless, real-time multi-language speech translation” supporting over 100 languages, built for travel, work, and everyday conversations. Translation is activated through a customizable tap gesture in the EarFun Audio app, which handles the language processing with minimal cloud data collection.

The app offers two modes: a face-to-face mode for back-and-forth conversations where each speaker takes turns, and a real-time mode for continuous translation. Both modes support transcript saving, which is useful for business meetings or travel notes. EarFun debuted its AI translation technology on the Air Pro 4+ at CES 2026, and the Clip 2 brings that same system into the open-ear clip-on form factor at a lower price point.

Hi-Res Audio With a Dual-Magnetic Titanium Driver

On the audio side, the Clip 2 runs an enhanced 12mm dual-magnetic titanium driver with a redesigned elliptical sound port for wider sound dispersion. That’s a step up from the original EarFun Clip’s 10.8mm driver, and EarFun says the new design delivers deeper bass and a wider soundstage.

The Clip 2 carries Hi-Res Audio certification with LDAC support over Bluetooth 6.0, meaning it can handle high-bitrate streaming from services that support it. EarFun describes the sound as “powerful, clear” with “studio-grade detail” delivered through the LDAC codec, and the Clip 2 adds 3D surround sound processing on top through its Spatial Stage Technology.

A quad-mic ENC system handles call noise reduction, which EarFun says uses AI-powered environmental noise cancellation to isolate your voice from background sound. Google Fast Pair makes setup instant on Android devices, while low-latency LE Audio keeps gaming and video in sync. Multipoint connections let you pair with two devices at the same time, so you can switch between your phone and laptop without re-pairing. The EarFun Audio app ties everything together with customizable EQ profiles, button remapping, and listening mode controls including a dedicated game mode for low-latency audio.

40 Hours of Playback and Wireless Charging

Battery life reaches up to 40 hours of total playback with the charging case (11 hours per earbud with LDAC off), though switching LDAC on brings that down to roughly 6 hours per earbud and 22 hours total with the case. Each earbud runs a 60mAh battery, while the case packs 490mAh. The earbuds recharge in about an hour inside the case, which itself takes two hours to fill via USB-C or 3.5 hours via wireless charging. That 40-hour ceiling gives the Clip 2 plenty of runway for extended travel, full work weeks without midweek recharging, or long listening sessions that stretch across multiple days.

The wireless charging on the case is a nice touch for a product at this price, and it fits with the travel-forward positioning that EarFun is pushing. For comparison, the original EarFun Clip topped out at 10 hours per earbud and 40 hours total, but lacked wireless charging on the case and didn’t offer AI translation at all.
