Comedian Naseef Akhtar’s Hyderabad show cancelled over objectionable content

Complaint registered by Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti over insults to Hindu Dharma and culture

Hyderabad, Telengana – A comedy show by comedian Naseef Akhtar scheduled for 3 April in Gachibowli was cancelled following a complaint by the Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti. Representatives of the Samiti submitted a formal complaint at the Gachibowli Police Station before the DCP, alleging that Akhtar had made objectionable remarks about the Brahmin community, Hindu temples, and the concept of a Hindu Rashtra in his previous performances.

The complaint stated that insulting Hindu Dharma and Indian culture under the pretext of freedom of expression is unacceptable, and demanded cancellation of the show.

According to the committee, the police administration took note of the seriousness of the matter and ensured that the programme was cancelled following organised efforts and the complaint.

It was also mentioned that a previously scheduled show of Naseef Akhtar in Bengaluru had been cancelled after a similar complaint.

Following the cancellation of the Hyderabad event, Akhtar reportedly released a video stating that he would cancel all his upcoming shows in India.

The Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti stated that this incident demonstrates how organised and lawful efforts by Hindu society can prevent the insult of Dharma and culture. They also added that similar steps would be taken in future if such incidents occur.
