Saudi Arabia has unveiled more than $33bn in new healthcare partnerships and investments during the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh, reinforcing its position as a global leader in health transformation under Vision 2030.
The substantial investment, announced on the opening day of the exhibition, underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to building one of the world’s most advanced and digitally integrated healthcare systems.
Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Health, the event aligns closely with Saudi Vision 2030 and is supported by the Health Sector Transformation Program.
Saudi health investments
It serves as the Kingdom’s most prominent platform for accelerating reform through strategic investment, innovation, and international collaboration.
Minister of Health Fahd AlJalajel inaugurated the exhibition, while Saudi Ambassador to the United States Reema bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz delivered a virtual address.
In his opening remarks, Fahd AlJalajel highlighted that Vision 2030 has driven a fundamental shift in Saudi Arabia’s approach to healthcare.
He said: “Vision 2030 has given us ample opportunity to reshape the healthcare landscape. We have shifted from treating illness after it occurs to preventing it before it happens, and from investing in pain to investing in hope”.
The minister outlined significant progress in public-health outcomes, noting that the Kingdom is nearing its goal of raising life expectancy to 79.7 years, up from 74 years in 2016.
Achievements include early screening for nearly 3m newborns and 6m premarital screenings.
Saudi Arabia has also achieved a 38 per cent reduction in deaths from chronic diseases, a more than 50 per cent decline in traffic fatalities, and early detection of 70 per cent of cancer cases — all key milestones in its preventive healthcare strategy.
“This is the essence of Vision 2030, this is our healthcare transformation, and this is the unified approach of the government,” AlJalajel said.
Digital innovation
The Global Health Exhibition, which continues until October 30, has become a hub for digital innovation in the healthcare sector.
Day two of the event focused on smart hospitals, artificial intelligence in obstetrics, and the digital transformation of the patient journey, highlighting how technology is reshaping healthcare delivery across the Kingdom.
With its strong emphasis on AI, data-driven diagnostics, and patient-centric design, the exhibition showcased Saudi Arabia’s determination to create a healthcare system built on prevention, innovation, and global best practice.
Health transformation
The scale of investment and participation at this year’s event reflects Saudi Arabia’s emergence as a benchmark for healthcare transformation worldwide.
By combining large-scale investment with digital infrastructure, international collaboration, and a data-driven approach to public health, the Kingdom is rapidly redefining what a national healthcare system can achieve under Vision 2030.
The Global Health Exhibition stands as a testament to that ambition — bringing together policymakers, investors, and innovators to shape the next generation of healthcare delivery in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
