The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has shut down an unlicensed training centre, imposed fines on its operators, and referred its managers to the Public Prosecution for multiple violations of national education and labour regulations.
The action followed inspections by MoHESR teams that uncovered serious breaches, including:
- Conducting unlicensed educational activities
- Enrolling students without approval
- Promoting unaccredited programmes
- Operating an unlicensed nursery
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation also reported further violations related to public safety and the employment of unlicensed workers, prompting coordinated enforcement action between the ministries.
Joint enforcement and penalties
MoHESR confirmed that, in coordination with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Ministry of Education, and the emirate’s Department of Economic Development, it had taken all necessary measures against the centre and its administrators.
MoHESR fined the centre and ordered it to shut down until it obtains the required licences.
Its administrators were referred to the emirate’s Public Prosecution for operating without a licence and promoting unaccredited programmes.
The Ministry is also working with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) to block the centre’s online accounts and websites used to promote its unauthorised programmes.
UAE student protection
MoHESR said it will continue to monitor violations and enforce penalties under national laws as part of its ongoing campaign to strengthen oversight of higher education institutions and training centres across the UAE.
Its proactive governance framework aims to protect students, ensure the quality of academic and vocational programmes, and build public confidence in the national education system.
The Ministry also urged parents and students to verify the licences and accreditation of any education or training provider before enrolment.
