Wishfish Coaching is celebrating two decades of empowering individuals and teams across the UK and beyond through tailored wellness and leadership coaching.
Founded in 2005 by Debbie Green after her own experience of redundancy and corporate burnout, Wishfish began as a personal reinvention and evolved into a respected coaching practice serving clients from startups to global brands. Green’s guiding principle, “wishing is just the beginning”, remains central to the organisation’s ethos.
Wishfish’s client base spans industries including music, aviation, finance, healthcare, education, and retail, with partnerships that include Heathrow Airport, Air Charter Service, Universal Music, ITV, Pepsi Lipton, JLL, Hovis, and McCarthy Stone. Its growth, largely through word of mouth, reflects the appeal of its holistic approach to personal and professional development.
A vision built on purpose
“Twenty years ago, I had no plan, no financial backing, just a belief that I could give something back doing what I love,” said Green. “I was tired of corporate life and burnout, and I wanted to help others build confidence and shine. The fact that we’re still here, still growing, and still working with amazing clients across so many sectors is testament to the power of staying true to your purpose. Helping people to help themselves and others is at the heart of everything we do, and that will never change.”
Over the past two decades, Wishfish has supported clients through major life and career transitions; from overcoming burnout and toxic work environments to launching businesses, securing promotions, and rebuilding self-belief. Its work addresses growing challenges such as workplace stress, imposter syndrome, and the search for work-life balance.
High-impact collaborations
Among its most notable projects was a three-year partnership with Heathrow Airport, delivering purpose and values workshops described as “life-changing” by participants. These sessions helped staff build resilience and cohesion within a demanding operational environment. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Wishfish extended its impact by providing free wellness coaching through the Aviation Action initiative, supporting aviation professionals during widespread disruption.
Expanding reach through podcasting
Complementing its coaching services, Wishfish co-hosts the award-winning Secrets from a Coach podcast with Laura Thomson-Staveley, a TEDx speaker from Phenomenal Training. Since launching in September 2020, the podcast has exceeded 60,000 downloads and holds a five-star Spotify rating. New episodes every Friday cover resilience, leadership, motivation, hybrid working, and mental health, with each 30-minute session offering accessible strategies for modern workplaces.
“This is a real passion project for myself and Laura, and to have hit 50,000 downloads is amazing,” Green said earlier this year. Upcoming 2025 topics include reducing workplace drama, prioritising wellness at work, and book club discussions: a reflection of its continued relevance in the evolving world of work.
Core philosophy and global reach
Wishfish offers one-to-one and team coaching, leadership workshops, and virtual training across the UK and internationally, with associates based in Italy, Malta, Portugal, France, and the US. Its coaching philosophy is anchored in three pillars:
- Wellness for you: Helping individuals achieve balance, self-awareness, and practical wellness in daily life.
- Wellness for you and your people at work: Supporting teams and leaders to build healthier dynamics, enhance connection, and sustain success.
- Wellness for future you: Encouraging fulfilling relationships and long-term well-being for individuals and their communities.
Clients such as Unilever, Rush Hair, PPL PRS, Marks and Spencer, Morrisons, and GTR have praised Wishfish’s approachable style and lasting impact. One client wrote on LinkedIn: “Debs and the team at Wishfish recently facilitated a month-long focus on Diversity and Inclusion… they exceeded expectations with their refreshingly conversational and professional approach.”
Celebrating 20 years
To mark its 20th anniversary, Wishfish is offering a 20% discount on all coaching and training booked in October, redeemable within the next 12 months.
After two decades, Green’s founding belief still guides the company: people can be as good as they want to be. By helping individuals explore their potential and cultivate compassion, Wishfish continues to transform lives — one conversation at a time.
