Opening last month, the V&A East Storehouse is a huge, three floor warehouse offering precedented access to the V&A collections and archives.

Billed as a “unique new museum experience,” the ever changing displays invite visitors to take a look behind the scenes and wander amongst half a million creative works, spanning every era, discipline, and corner of the globe.

Open seven days a week, and located a short walk from Hackney Wick station, admission is free and you can even go online and Order an Object to view close up and personal. It’s a brilliant idea.

The storehouse provides a new permanent home for David Bowie’s archive, and comes with a bookable creative workspace.

Admission is free but you need to book a timed ticket to gain entry.

Daily: 10.00 – 18.00
Thursday and Saturday: 10.00 – 22.00

Getting to the Storehouse

Parkes Street, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Hackney Wick, London, E20 3AX

V&A East Storehouse main entrance is on Parkes Street, E20 3AX, located inside the Here East building.

  • Hackney Wick Overground is 0.3 miles away (8-minute walk)
  • Stratford station is 0.9 miles away (20-minute walk)
  • Stratford International is 0.8 miles away (17-minute walk)

All stations have step free access.

388 bus route stops outside Here East. Here East bus shuttles run from Stratford stations Monday-Friday, every 10 minutes 6:30am to 9pm
There are bike lanes throughout the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. There are cycle racks and Santander Cycle docks on Parkes Street.
