Dermoi, the UK’s concept store for scientifically verified skincare, convened its Scientific Advisory Board for a strategy dinner last Friday 26th September at The Arts Club, Dover Street. The event, which began at 7pm, brought together leading figures in science, psychology, and medicine to shape Dermoi’s vision for 2025 and beyond.

Dermoi has built its reputation on transparency and evidence-based practice. As the company explains: “Science is at the heart of everything we do. Our Scientific Team is a distinguished panel of experts in clinical research who ensure that every skincare solution we offer meets the highest standards of efficacy and quality.” The dinner reflected that mission, placing collaboration and scientific rigour at the centre of the evening.

The programme opened with a welcome from founder Elena Reva, who outlined Dermoi’s mission, growth highlights, and future goals. She reaffirmed the company’s focus on simplifying skincare journeys through a rigorous in-house review process.

Introductions followed, with each board member sharing their expertise, current focus, and what excites them about joining the board. Members were also invited to highlight one aspect of skincare or wellness science they find particularly fascinating. This exercise set a collaborative tone for the evening and encouraged participants to bring both professional and personal perspectives to the table.

The main discussion centred on the role of the board and how Dermoi can best support its members. Questions included how the company could make their involvement valuable and fulfilling, how it might assist their own research, and what initiatives or improvements they would like to see. Roundtable topics and provocative prompts were prepared to keep the dialogue lively and thought-provoking.

The board brings together a multidisciplinary team of experts, including:

  • Ekin Guney, molecular biologist and scientific advisor on product verification.
  • Dr Angelika Grechnaya, counselling psychologist with expertise in evidence-based therapy.
  • Dennis Relojo-Howell, managing director of Psychreg and PhD researcher in clinical psychology.
  • Dr Jahnavi Maini, pharmacovigilance consultant specialising in drug safety.
  • Dr Suren Naidoo, aesthetic doctor with more than four decades of medical experience.
  • Ersa Tsoutsoura, dermatology clinical specialist pharmacist and clinical lead at KLIRA.

Held in the historic surroundings of The Arts Club, the dinner underscored Dermoi’s blend of sophistication and substance. More than a formal gathering, it was designed to encourage collaboration, inspire new ideas, and set clear priorities for the year ahead.

As the evening concluded, the discussion pointed towards a roadmap for 2025 that places clinical validation and consumer trust at the centre of Dermoi’s strategy. By combining scientific insight with a commitment to accessible skincare, the company is seeking to ensure that evidence, not hype, defines the next chapter in the industry.
